Captures stunning, high-resolution surf footage with exceptional clarity and stabilization, even in harsh conditions.
The GoPro Hero11 Black has completely transformed the way I capture my surf sessions and outdoor adventures. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a step above previous models. The video quality is nothing short of stunning. Shooting in 5.3K at 60fps allows me to capture every detail, and when I reviewed the footage, I was blown away by the clarity, even in challenging lighting conditions.
One of the features I absolutely love is the HyperSmooth 4.0 stabilization. I’ve used it while surfing, snowboarding, and even mountain biking, and the footage is consistently smooth, almost as if I had a gimbal attached. This has made a huge difference in the quality of my videos. However, I did notice that the battery life drains pretty quickly when using the higher video settings and features like GPS, which means I need to carry spare batteries for longer shoots.
Durability is another area where the Hero11 Black excels. I’ve dropped it on rocky shores, submerged it in salty water, and exposed it to extreme temperatures, and it hasn’t skipped a beat. The waterproof feature up to 33 feet is particularly handy, as I don’t have to worry about housing when I take it out surfing. That said, the touchscreen can be a bit finicky when wet, which can be frustrating when trying to make quick adjustments in the water.
The GoPro Quik app has been a game-changer for editing on the fly. The interface is user-friendly, and the ability to quickly transfer and edit footage right on my phone means I can share high-quality videos almost immediately after a session. This convenience has made it my go-to camera for content creation.
Overall, the GoPro Hero11 Black is a must-have for anyone serious about capturing their adventures. Despite minor issues like battery life and touchscreen sensitivity, its unmatched video quality and durability make it the best action camera I’ve ever used.
